privacy & cookies
Short version: we collect your email only if you give it to us, we use it only for what you asked for, we never sell it, and this site sets no cookies.
Effective September 29, 2026 · Updated October 10, 2026 (weekly email opens and taps)
Who we are
shore.buzz is an independent local events guide for the Mississippi Gulf Coast, operated by NOW Services LLC (“we,” “us”). Questions about this policy or your data: hello@shore.buzz.
What we collect
- Weekly picks signup: your email address, the topics you pick, when you signed up, and whether you confirmed. We use it only to send the weekly picks email you asked for. For each email we send, we also keep whether it was delivered, bounced, or marked as spam, and which email an unsubscribe came from. If an address bounces or reports spam, we stop emailing it.
- Weekly email opens and taps: our emails include a tiny image that tells our email provider when they’re opened, and the weekly picks’ event links go through shore.buzz first so we can count which ones you tap before sending you to the event. We record opens and taps for each person’s weekly picks email. We use it to learn which events readers like, to improve the weekly picks, and to give sponsors total counts (never who tapped). Opens are approximate: some email apps load images for everyone and some block them. To stop open tracking, turn off images in your email app. Links in confirmation emails, and the unsubscribe link, are never tracked.
- Contact form: your name (optional), email, message, and which page you sent it from. We use it only to read and reply to you.
- Site analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views and button taps (like Save, Share, or a filter) without cookies and without identifying you. We see totals like “how many people viewed the events page” or “how many people saved this event,” not who you are.
- Server logs: like every website, our host briefly records technical details (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and stop abuse.
- Spam protection: when you use the signup or contact form, we count tries per network address and per email to block floods of fake submissions. We store only a scrambled code, not your IP or email address, and delete it within 2 days.
We don’t ask for your name, address, phone number, or payment details, and we don’t run ad trackers or social-media pixels.
Cookies & local storage
shore.buzz sets no cookies. That’s why you don’t see a cookie banner.
When you tap Save on an event, the list of saved events is kept in your own browser’s local storage so it’s there next time. It never leaves your device and we can’t see it. Clear it any time by un-saving events or clearing your browser’s site data.
If we ever add cookies or tracking that aren’t strictly needed to run the site, we’ll update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Who helps us run the site
We share data only with the services that make the site work, and only what they need:
- Vercel hosts the site and provides the cookie-free analytics.
- Supabase stores signups and contact messages.
- Resend sends our emails (confirmation and weekly picks) and tells us when they’re delivered or opened.
- Google Fonts serves the site’s typefaces, so your browser contacts Google to load them.
We never sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don’t share it with advertisers. Sponsors never receive subscriber emails or learn who opened or tapped anything; they see only totals.
Signup is double opt-in: nothing is sent until you tap the confirm link. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also just reply and ask to be removed.
How long we keep it
We keep your email while you’re subscribed. After you unsubscribe we keep a record that you opted out, so we don’t email you again by mistake, along with the history of the emails we sent you (delivered, opened, tapped). Ask and we’ll delete that history. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to handle them. Ask and we’ll delete your data (see below).
Your choices
Email hello@shore.buzz to see, correct, or delete what we have about you. We’ll respond within 30 days. We don’t respond to “Do Not Track” signals differently because we don’t track you across sites to begin with.
Kids
shore.buzz is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above. If a change affects how we use your email, we’ll tell subscribers in the next email.
